没有路,只有水 There was no road except river

在水里没有木棍帮忙平衡很容易摔到。It's difficult to keep balance without a stick to support .

水很冷,我们要穿特别的裤子与鞋子。 The water was ice cold, so we need to put special paints and shows.
Today, we went to the Narrows, a river walk between two sheer canyon cliffs. First, we rented bikes from across the street and outfitted there - neoprene socks, shoes, and pants with a rubber gasket to keep the icy water out. When we got there, about one third of the people were outfitted similarily to ourselves, and others simply wore hiking sandals, tennis shoes and socks, and shorts or bathing suits. We rode electric bikes up across Pa’rus trail first, then along the road, whipping by in the hot wind. The narrows itself was a shallow river - at times up to chest height, other times ankle deep. The weather was a spring-into-summer weather, especially in the shade of the canyons and ideal.
The river was green and murky in areas, and if deeper than one foot, you can’t see the rocks - only shapes. We walked against the icy current going up the trail, and stepped carefully on the rocks along the bottom. Along nearly the entire way, we could see dispersed crowds ahead and behind us, sometimes passing or following the same groups.
The man in the store who helped us was named Savage. He was a bearded fellow in a bit of a rush but extremely friendly and professional. He told us that he had worked there for a few years in 2013, then left to go to physical therapy school in 2017. Since he was going to be 50 years old soon, he thought that he would just be spending the rest of his life paying off debt and so decided to come back and live his life. He seemed to enjoy the job and be full of life.
