endless road for hours, look the GPS, nothing else, including cars. kind of scary. 一望无际的路，开大半天连车都没有，有点吓人。

Went off a side road and ended up in an unpaved road. Got nearly stuck in a ditch. Drove and drove and stopped at a gas station and endless road. New Mexico is big. Lots of land, dry, mostly uninhabited from the look of our route. People are very proud of Route 66 here. Signs everywhere, magnets at gift shops.

Apparently, Gallup has one of the highest crime rates in the country. We went to a grocery store and each bought a cake.
